Accounting Manager Accounting Managers at HWA play a key role in overseeing the work of junior staff, ensuring accuracy of our clients’ financial statements, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. In this fully remote position, you’ll be the primary point of contact for your own portfolio of client and expected to clearly communicate financial results. You'll also have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, improve processes, and coach staff, making this a great role for a detail-oriented leader. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Can provide PC with Windows 10 or 11 operating system - 3+ years of accounting experience, including experience in managing or supervising staff - Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results to clients using clear, non-technical language - Experience working in a fully remote environment, managing remote teams - Strong attention to detail and ability to review and correct the work of junior staff - Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor - Experience creating or improving processes and workflows for remote teams - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to coach junior staff through challenges - Ability to manage multiple client relationships and prioritize tasks effectively - Experience with preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts - Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on client-facing roles - Previous experience working for an accounting firm or handling a portfolio of clients - Advanced skills in Excel and experience with accounting tools such as Xero or Wave
Full Charge Bookkeeper Full-charge bookkeepers at HWA play a vital role in supporting our clients' financial operations. In this client-facing position, you’ll handle bookkeeping tasks, reconciliations, tax filings, and provide key financial insights to both clients and internal staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and excellent communication with clients and our team. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Experience in bookkeeping or accounting - Proficiency in QuickBooks Online - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines - Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently in a remote environment - Familiarity with MS Teams, MS Planner, and MS SharePoint PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS - College coursework in Accounting or a related field - Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting - Knowledge of North Carolina Sales and Use Tax filings - Experience preparing financial statements and reports - Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights - Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
